My Morning Jacket is an American rock band. Formed in 1998 in Louisville, Kentucky, the band consists of five members — singer/songwriter/guitarist Jim James, bassist "Two Tone" Tommy, drummer Patrick Hallahan, guitarist Carl Broemel, and keyboardist Bo Koster. The band is best known for their reverb-soaked sound and their enthusiastic live shows. My Morning Jacket is signed with ATO Records. The band's moniker comes from a discarded coat James saw with the letters "MMJ" on it.
